July 2010 marks the first anniversary of the San Francisco Housing Authority Newsletter and we are very honored that you have supported us every month by reading and responding to our stories as we continue to work to improve the efficiencies and performance of this agency.
Over the last year we have had the pleasure of featuring many community leaders from across the spectrum who have a positive and direct impact on the work we do here at the San Francisco Housing Authority. While we are proud of our achievements over the last year, we know that we did not get to this juncture alone. It was through the willingness of many to work with us, including elected officials, civic leaders in the local community and neighborhoods, numerous non-profit organizations, and many of our colleagues in the public sector. Through this dialogue we have looked at a number of issues facing the SFHA, including: public safety, customer service, recreational and educational opportunities for our residents, job opportunities for our residents, maintenance and capital improvements at SFHA housing developments, and many other issues that drive a movement of change in how we fundamentally conduct business at the Authority.
Looking forward, we will continue to strive to make the positive changes that the public expects and demands to see. With the persistent and ongoing challenges that the national and local economy present and the uncertainties that exist in the public sector as a result, we know we need to work to continue to change the face of public housing here in San Francisco. We want to utilize as many opportunities as possible to communicate with you and to get your view and perspective on what you think is working. We need your viewpoints so that we can better fit the community's needs and expectations.
Thank you again for supporting the San Francisco Housing Authority and as always, feel free to contact us to give us your feedback on the SFHA Newsletter. Your input is invaluable as we promote and implement full scale changes here at the SFHA.
Happy Reading,
