"We have been behind the times when it comes to environmental energy conservation efforts," explains Mirian Saez, interim executive director of the San Francisco Housing Authority. The service will include an audit of the agency's energy/water consumption practices, the identification of utility saving measures, and the implementation of capital improvement projects such as lighting retrofits, the installation of energy efficient appliances, equipment, and ventilation systems, water conservation measures, and many other home upgrades at all the developments. Simultaneously, SFHA will conduct an extensive educational outreach campaign around energy and water conservation to its residents. The SFHA has 50 residential facilities throughout the City and provide homes to nearly 12,000 low-income individuals and families. The SFHA also provide services to 21,000 Section 8 participants.
